Welcome Dave’s Diver!
We are so happy that you will be joining us on Saturday February 24 th to join fellow Dave’s Divers as we take our third Polar Plunge at Koontz Lake! Here are a few important things to know about your plunge.
Before the Plunge
- Make an even bigger ‘splash’ by asking your friends and family to make a donation on your behalf to Dave’s Divers. Just share the link to the www.Davesdivers.org web page. Remember no donation is too small and they all help us to meet our fundraising goal!
Time to Plunge
- We suggest you arrive in your plunging attire. You may choose to plunge in a bathing suit or fully clothed.
- We will be plunging at 1:00 p.m. (CST) so don’t be late!
- Footwear should be worn in the water (we do not recommend flip flops).
- In keeping with Dave’s spirit, we encourage all our supporters to wear a flannel shirt. However we know that Dave also approved of anything crazy and fun – so use your imagination!
- Bring a change of warm clothes.
- Our group will gather lakeside at 1:00 p.m.
- We will have a heated holding tent set up in front of the lake.
- Divers will enter the water in waves of 6-10 plungers so we can all cheer each other on!
- A photographer will capture the moments when you are plunging.
- After exiting the water we will provide you with a towel.
After the Plunge
- Be sure to stick around the rest of the day to celebrate with us. Our ‘Diver’s Tent will be serving lunch and we will announce the ‘Golden Plunger’ award winners. But the celebration won’t end there. We have an afternoon full of fun with live music from The Larkin and Moran Brothers, Basket Raffles and Split the Pot so don’t miss the chance to mingle with your fellow Dave’s Divers!
Thank you so very much for your support of the Dave’s Divers mission and for helping us honor, remember and celebrate Dave in this most wonderful way. It means more than words can say!
